Our annual training event is a comprehensive training course that covers Basic to Advanced topics. The course begins with an in-depth look at using LP360 for QA/QC of LIDAR data and then focuses on the standard and advanced levels of the product. We provide a beginning and advanced session on extraction and enforcement of breakline features in the ArcGIS environment. In addition, attendees learn how to use the manual and automated classification tools, including classifying ground, model key points and buildings. We also cover creation of on-the-fly 3D points, polylines and polygons, cross sections and volumetric analysis.
Each day includes ample hands-on time for attendees.
Attendees are required to supply their own laptop for the training and should have working knowledge of the base ESRI™ software. Attendees must have administrative privileges on their laptops in order to install the license file which will be made available at the training.

QA/QC of LIDAR Data for ASPRS and USGS Compliance
In this session we will cover the recommended workflow for using LP360 in the quality assurance and quality control process of LIDAR data. We will examine the tools and processes necessary to satisfy the criteria as laid out in the ASPRS Positional Accuracy Standards for Digital Geospatial Data, as well as the USGS LIDAR Base Specification. This session will include training in the use of the new to LP360 2017.2 “LAS File Analyst” tool for LAS file quality assurance checks and repairs. As this session will use several basic level tools this module is also a good overview for LIDAR data and the general use of LP360, with applicability to a wide variety of applications.

Automatic and Manual Classification of Features and Extraction of Outlines
In this session we will cover the recommended workflows for LIDAR data classification. The process highlights the concepts for starting with a fully unclassified dataset and works its way into techniques for classifying common above ground features. This session will cover new Point Cloud Task enhancements in LP360 2017 and introduce the new Feature Analyst tools in LP360, which were first introduced in version 2017.1 and useful for data comparisons.

Breakline and Feature Elevation Identification
In this session we will examine the tools in LP360 for ArcGIS as well as LP360 for elevation conflation and feature editing. A common use of these tools is to enforce breaklines for cartographic DEM production, as outlined in the USGS LIDAR Base Specification. An additional common use is to extract elevation information from features as either attributes or geometry, for example: building heights for various use cases, such as the building heights for fire department analysis. This session will extensively cover the new Feature Analyst tools in LP360, which were first introduced in version 2017.1.

In this session we will cover a number of advanced and special topics:
• Dealing with noisy data (particularly sUAS Dense Image Matching data)
