Responsible for corporate-wide compliance with all international customs and commerce laws.
Consolidate logistic operations of mdGroup’s and GeoCue Group’s products within North America. Take, place and track orders for raw materials and equipment for North American operations. Proactively liaison between suppliers and staff to resolve purchasing supply issues, ensuring an accurate and timely provision of supplies. Accurately maintain the company’s databases to ensure it is up-to-date and meet company’s high standards. Negotiate with suppliers and carriers to obtain best deal for individual products or longer-term discount agreements. Strategically plan and manage logistics and transportation for all North American operations. Keep track of stock levels, delivery times, transportation costs and efficiency. Resolve any arising problems with shipments. Prepare all shipping documentation, including Carnets, Certificate of Origins and Export Permits. Arrange and prepare documentation for dangerous goods shipments. Manage account with Canutec, ICC compliance and Transport Canada dangerous goods inspections. Run background compliance screening checks for every new customer.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor degree (or foreign equivalent) in Logistics, Supply Chain Management or related discipline.
- Experience: 2 years of experience in the job offered, or in a logistics coordinator/lead position. Experience must include working knowledge of the preparation of shipping documentation, including Carnets, Certificate of Origins and Export Permits. Must have hands-on experience strategically planning and managing logistics and transportation, including negotiating contracts with transportation companies and brokers. Experience can be gained concurrently. Employer will accept any suitable combination of education, training or experience.
