Position Summary
GeoCue Group Inc. ("GeoCue") is a market-leading US technology company designing, manufacturing, distributing LiDAR hardware and software products for the Surveying/Mapping industry, including TrueView LiDAR payloads and LP360 point cloud processing software. GeoCue Group is headquartered near Huntsville, in Madison, AL.
We are seeking a dedicated Technical Customer Support specialist for our LP360 LiDAR processing software. In this role, you will serve as a key resource for our customers, providing expert troubleshooting for software processing issues and ensuring smooth, effective use of LP360 for a range of geospatial applications.
Your main responsibilities will include:
- Diagnosing and resolving customer technical problems related to LiDAR data processing workflows in LP360 via email, phone, and in-person support.
- Creating, updating, and refining user documentation, including workflow guides and technical manuals, to help customers maximize software capabilities.
- Participating in software testing and providing feedback to the development team on new features, improvements, and bug fixes for upcoming releases of LP360.
You will also be responsible for providing training, both in person and remote, to help customers confidently utilize LP360’s full range of features and workflows.
Success in this position requires strong technical aptitude, excellent communication skills, and a willingness to continually learn about evolving LiDAR data processing workflows and features within LP360. Your efforts will directly impact customer satisfaction, product quality, and the ongoing advancement of our software solutions.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Technical Support – Email, phone, and in-person.
- Understand customer processing issues
- Reproduce those issues locally
- Find solutions internally by providing either a corrected workflow or a software fix
- Document workflows and software capabilities.
- Test software and document required improvements.
- Conduct end-to-end customer workflow training for GeoCue drone mapping systems, including direct interaction, troubleshooting, and updates to training exercises.
- Be proficient with computers and willing to learn imagery/LIDAR data processing workflows.
- Calibrate mapping cameras and LIDAR systems.
Most of the time will be spent in our Huntsville, Alabama office processing and analyzing data and providing technical support to GeoCue’s global customer base.
Approximately 5% of the time could be spent traveling to and performing services/training at customer sites or participating in Trade Shows
Key Experience/Skills:
- Experience with industry standard LIDAR, GIS, survey, and CAD software packages such as
GeoCue, LP360, Civil3D, MicroStation, ArcGIS, QGIS, and Trimble Business Center is preferred.
- Familiarity with orthophoto production workflows and related software tools would be an asset.
- Surveying experience a significant plus.
- A college degree is a plus but not required.
- Basic proficiency in mathematics.
- Ability to work under pressure (carrying out training in front of customers).
- Must have a valid driver's license with a clean driving record; this position is subject to random drug testing.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Must be organized and able to take concise, readable notes.
- Must be able to adhere to rigorous safety protocols.
